The Scottish economy:

The Scottish Government’s Delivery Plan for Physical Activity and Sport has the ambition to cut physical inactivity by 15 per cent across Scotland by 2030.

“I am delighted that the Building Scotland Fund has now agreed to investments of £100 million, unlocking projects in excess of £238 million, providing a significant boost to the Scottish economy”. Economy Secretary Derek Mackay

Scotland currently has approximately 13,000 clubs with 900,000 members.

Scotland has a total of 192 Community Sports Hubs across the country and is on target to achieving 200 in 2020.

Sport Scotland continues to focus on areas of deprivation, working with eight hubs in the 5 per cent most deprived areas.

Government has pledged to build partnerships to increase the extent to which leisure and school sports infrastructure is affordable, available and open.

Government has pledged to prioritise investment from the Sport Facilities Fund into projects that provide opportunities for people to get involved in sport and physical activity.
